About Us

Why Walnut?

The Dordogne is a picturesque region in south west of France.  Endless fields of fertile farmland and rolling vineyards are responsible for a plethora of seasonally fresh produce and stunning wines. Amongst which can be found an abundance of culinary delicacies including Truffles, an array wild mushrooms and the stunning WALNUT.

Walnut trees were originally brought to the area from Persia by the Romans in the 10thcentury. Since then have been ingrained in the food and culture of the region, even acquiring coveted AOP status.

The symbol that the walnut and its trees bring to the province is that of honest natural sustenance, versatility and powerful beauty. These traits are profoundly ingrained through our core culture and ethos.
